To my Clients:

Federal Law requires me (along with banks, brokerage houses, and other financial institutions) to annually disclose my Privacy Policy to you – which I am more than happy to do. Your privacy is important to me and maintaining your trust and confidence is one of my highest priorities. I respect your right to keep your personal and business information confidential and understand your desire to avoid unwanted solicitations. I hope that by taking a few moments to read it, you will have a better understanding of what I do with the information you provide me and how I keep it private and secure.

A. Types of Information Collected
I collect certain personal information about you – but only when that information is provided by you or obtained by me with your authorization. I use that information to prepare your accounting financial statements, personal income tax returns and to provide various tax and financial planning services to you at your request.

Examples of sources from which I collect information include:

  • Interviews and phone calls with you, the client.
  • Letters or emails from you, the client.
  • Tax return and/or financial planning organizers

B. Parties to Whom Information is Disclosed
As a general rule I do not disclose personal or business information about clients or former clients to anyone. However, to the extent permitted by law and any applicable state Code of Professional Conduct, certain nonpublic information about you may be disclosed in the following situations.

  1. To comply with validly issues subpoena or summons.
  2. In the course of review of my accounting practices under the authorization of a state or
    national licensing board, or as necessary to properly respond to an inquiry or complaint
    from such a licensing board or organization.
  3. As a part of any actual or threatened legal proceedings or alternative dispute resolution
    proceedings either initiated by or against me, provide I disclose only the information
    necessary to file, pursue, or defend against the lawsuit and take reasonable precautions to
    ensure that the information disclosed does not become a matter of public record.

C. Use of Personal Information

I use the information collected under this Policy to perform services within the scope of our engagement and to inform you through any communication channel including, phone, fax, electronic mail, about new services and to provide information that I think will be of interest to you such as conferences we hold, changes in the law or accounting practices, or other professional or business developments. If you do not wish to receive such information, you may opt out by contacting me, and I will promptly discontinue sending you information other than in regard to your account.
